Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a bleed and why do I need it?
A: Bleed is the image or color that extends past the edge of your
finished piece. Due to slight inconsistencies in printing and
finishing, adding bleed will eliminate the possibilities of white
edges showing up around your finished product. We recommend at least
.125" bleed on all 4 sides past your finished size.
Q: What type of file do you prefer?
A: PDF or Portable Document Format has become the
industry standard. This type of file helps eliminate guess work,
what you see on your end is what we will process. Although there are
multiple ways to save a PDF file (please see our PDF instructions
page for more info), it will solve sending multiple links and fonts
as well possible type re-flow.
Q: Why are Purchase Orders important?
A: Giving us a purchase order eliminates a lot of guess work and
future headaches. If we know ahead of time about such things as your
expected delivery date and your final product destination we are
more likely to meet or exceed your expectations.
Q: How long will my job take to produce?
A: Our standard turnaround is 5 to 7 business days after proof
approval. If we know ahead of time you are on a tight schedule we
will do our best to accommodate. Some jobs may take longer depending
on size and finishing involved.
Q: Print grows trees?
A: Yes this is true, the forest products industry plants 3 trees for
every 1 tree that is harvested. The U.S. now has 12 million more
acres of forestland than 20 years ago.
